My how times are changing

As a new year is upon us, its a time for reflection and also a great opportunity to meet up wth friends and family.

Over the Christmas and New Year period, I was lucky enough to be able to spend lots of time with friends and family and also my Aunt. We were talking about when we were little and my Aunt was explaining about some of the photographs she had from when I was a baby. Well, we soon got out old photograph albums and also pictures of my brothers and sisters when they were small (black and white ones may I add!).

My aunt had just become a great great grandma and she wanted a small gift to give to this new member of the family, so she decided a blue baby comforter would be the ideal gift to the newest member of the family!

So a personalised comforter was made and my Aunt was very pleased.   It made me think back to my picutures of when I was small and how I was such a dolly girl!

Now we have so many other gorgeous gifts to give to babies!

New Year - New You?

Well firstly Happy New Year to you All! I hope you celebrated the New Year in Style and over the last few weeks spent some quality time with family and friends.

So who has set New Year Resolutions? Well not me! Is that a sign of age? I wonder, actually I am happy with me, my motto in life as a premature baby I was not quite finished, a bit like a nearly baked cake! And as I always say to my sisters if I had been fully baked, I would have been six foot six and a supermodel! So I will not be joining the gym to go mad for two weeks and then have every excuse under the sun never to return and work out that each day that I did go cost a small fortune!

However, I do have a few small goals, to keep more in touch with friends and family, I am rubbish at this at the moment! To get better organised and to carry on de-cluttering the house.

I am also going to bake more, and actually sort out my freezers to start 'cooking ahead'.

My husband bought me a fab new digital slr camera for Christmas and I am going to take more walks with our dog buster and also take more photographs! I have already been snapping away and made some collages of family over the christmas time. I will also keep on getting prints of photos as I do not want to just be able to view them on my computer!

So a happy wealthy, fun fillled 2011 to you all.

Kindest Regards

Ellie

December - and looking forward to 2011

Well we are now heading towards the middle of December and once Christmas has passed we will all have a New Year to look forward to.

However 2010 is not over yet and for most this is the busiest fortnight, presents to pick and wrap, cards to written and food to be ordered and generally a frantic time of getting your house in order.

Please remember that there are lots of people in your house, so please delegate, this really is a stressful time but with planning and help it can be much more FUN! Last year, myself and the children prepped all of the vegetables on Christmas Eve and prepared puddings etc, it certainly made a HUGE difference.

As soon as breakfast was over on Christmas morning, they all laid the table for Christmas Dinner. This allowed us to have more family together time and no one person was doing most of the work.

Whatever you are doing this Christmas time, please take time to be with the people you love, take lots of pics and if you have elderly neighbours then please ensure that they are also OK.

If you think this makes me see very organised, please note, today I will be wrppaing final presents, decorating the house including putting up the tree, writing cards and making my Christmas cake!

I wish you all everything you wish for yourself and would like to Thank everyone who has made this year so fabulous, lots of learning curves for me, have met some amazing people and shared some great 'creative' times. I have found some new creative people who hopefully in 2011 I can showase there talents on my website. If you are a crafty/creative person and do not havve an outlet to sell your wares, please get in touch.

Kindest Regards
Best Wishes to You and Yours

Retro - A blast from the past

When we look back on our youth and remember the 'good times', the music, the food, the clothes, and of course some rather frightening hair styles!

So what are the iconic images of your youth? Well who can forget the modern romantics, chopper bicycles and of course the classic Raleigh Burner BMX.

Never Forget are delighted that we can now supply this iconic image on a range of bags, wallets and cups.

So if your heart strings still pull at the sight of a BMX then a retro bag is a fabulous gift, however this iconic image is not only for the people who remeber it first time around, it is also for those that just love all things retro!

Back to school essentials

Well we are now in the midst of the fabulous summer holidays, but please do not leave it to the last minute for all of those back to school essentials!

Remember, the holidays will fly by and you will wonder where the time went just like your melted ice cream cone.

So be organised, write a list and keep it with you when you are shopping either on-line or at the shops.

If you have little ones that are going to school for the first time, get them involved, help them choose things like PE bags, lunch boxes etc. Remember, you may also be very scared and not want to let them go, but make it fun for both of you.

Some things to help you on your way!

  • Uniform - keep the school list with you and shop around, most high street stores will offer deals so make sure you get the best value!

  • Shoes - try to leave these till last, it is amazing how much there feet will grow in the summer holidays! Don;t forget pe plimsolls if they are also needed.

  • Pencil case and contents.

  • PE Kit.

  • Book Bags

  • Lunch box and beaker (insulated if possible!)

  • A pack away rain jacket great in September when it is not cold enough for a winter coat but they may be caught in showers! These are also small enough to fit into there bag.

  • Name tags, sew in ones are best remember if they lose a jumper it you have your childs name in it - hopefully it will come back to you.

Above all enjoy this special time and talk to you children about the start of this new adventure!
