December - and looking forward to 2011

Well we are now heading towards the middle of December and once Christmas has passed we will all have a New Year to look forward to.

However 2010 is not over yet and for most this is the busiest fortnight, presents to pick and wrap, cards to written and food to be ordered and generally a frantic time of getting your house in order.

Please remember that there are lots of people in your house, so please delegate, this really is a stressful time but with planning and help it can be much more FUN! Last year, myself and the children prepped all of the vegetables on Christmas Eve and prepared puddings etc, it certainly made a HUGE difference.

As soon as breakfast was over on Christmas morning, they all laid the table for Christmas Dinner. This allowed us to have more family together time and no one person was doing most of the work.

Whatever you are doing this Christmas time, please take time to be with the people you love, take lots of pics and if you have elderly neighbours then please ensure that they are also OK.

If you think this makes me see very organised, please note, today I will be wrppaing final presents, decorating the house including putting up the tree, writing cards and making my Christmas cake!

I wish you all everything you wish for yourself and would like to Thank everyone who has made this year so fabulous, lots of learning curves for me, have met some amazing people and shared some great 'creative' times. I have found some new creative people who hopefully in 2011 I can showase there talents on my website. If you are a crafty/creative person and do not havve an outlet to sell your wares, please get in touch.

Kindest Regards
Best Wishes to You and Yours

Retro - A blast from the past

When we look back on our youth and remember the 'good times', the music, the food, the clothes, and of course some rather frightening hair styles!

So what are the iconic images of your youth? Well who can forget the modern romantics, chopper bicycles and of course the classic Raleigh Burner BMX.

Never Forget are delighted that we can now supply this iconic image on a range of bags, wallets and cups.

So if your heart strings still pull at the sight of a BMX then a retro bag is a fabulous gift, however this iconic image is not only for the people who remeber it first time around, it is also for those that just love all things retro!

Back to school essentials

Well we are now in the midst of the fabulous summer holidays, but please do not leave it to the last minute for all of those back to school essentials!

Remember, the holidays will fly by and you will wonder where the time went just like your melted ice cream cone.

So be organised, write a list and keep it with you when you are shopping either on-line or at the shops.

If you have little ones that are going to school for the first time, get them involved, help them choose things like PE bags, lunch boxes etc. Remember, you may also be very scared and not want to let them go, but make it fun for both of you.

Some things to help you on your way!

  • Uniform - keep the school list with you and shop around, most high street stores will offer deals so make sure you get the best value!

  • Shoes - try to leave these till last, it is amazing how much there feet will grow in the summer holidays! Don;t forget pe plimsolls if they are also needed.

  • Pencil case and contents.

  • PE Kit.

  • Book Bags

  • Lunch box and beaker (insulated if possible!)

  • A pack away rain jacket great in September when it is not cold enough for a winter coat but they may be caught in showers! These are also small enough to fit into there bag.

Design your own baby basket

We all love babies and we all love to wish the lady at work all the very best when she sadly leaves the work-place to go on maternity leave. So we rush around with the collection and the card, what do we buy? Gift vouchers! great idea but sadly does not have the OOOH and AWWWWW factor when you hand over a envelope!

Well we may have just the solution to this tricky problem. Never Forget are proud to announce that we have just added our 'design your own baby basket to our range'. Priced to suit every budget, from £25.00 upto whatever you decide, we will happily make a bespoke baby basket for you and deliver it safely to its final desitination.

So what if the new arrival has not yet arrived? Well fear not, remember those gift vouchers, well we will supply a personalised gift voucher, with examples of what can be ordered complete with pictures of some example baskets. So when the new arrival does make his/her appearance we can tailor make the basket then. However we can make baskets suitable for either a boy or girl, so if you just can;t wait, we will be happy to help.

Dots and Spots and all things girly!

I recently when on one of my latest buying sprees found these gorgeous hot pink bags with lovely pink and white co-ordintatin spotty handles.

Now those that know Never Forget and love our personalised baby baskets will be delighted that we can now offer a smaller gift in these gorgeous bags.

Two of them have gone out today and both with the Name Chloe! Last week we had three baby boy baskets ordered, all with the name Freddie!

Each gift bag shown contains one of our lovley pink teddy satin edged compforters which of course is personalised. If you are not familiar with the concept of a comforter they are given to the Mum to sleep with which then takes on her smells. Then it is used as a comforter for your baby.

We have also added our truly scrunptious girly socks. These really are just too cute and the picture does not do them justice, what is even more fab is the bottom of the socks are personalised with little angel.

The bag is then finished off with a lovely personalised bib.

Please go and view these on the site.

Naming Day / Christening Day - Either way a Special Day!

When my children were small, we only had the choice of a Christening Day, however now lots of my customers and friends have chosen to have a 'naming day', which I guess has the same sentiment, in that friends and family gather to join in this special day for the special baby or child.

So with this in mind, and because I have been asked to add Naming Day bibs to our collection, well now we have. They are not yet on the website so this really is an exclusive!

I have also made naming day bunting which can have the name of the lucky recipient on - one letter on each pennant!

When you think about it, whatever the outfit the baby/child is wearing probably was made with love, is a family heirloom or has cost quite a bit of money, so it makes sense to enhance this with a fabulous bib.

Hope you like them!

Kindest Regards

Spring has Sprung!

Well its still chilly outside but the sun is shining and my tubs and pots around the garden are growing!

I have been watching on TV The Delicious Miss Dahl (Sophie Dahls new cooking programme) which is truly wonderful. Her new book will definately be on my reading list. It has also inspired me to put bunting onto the website. It is amazing how some shabby chic bunting can make a dreary corner a cheery corner.

I have also decided to have a go at knitting some cushion covers from ribbons and silks. Depending on how they come along these too may make an appearance on the site soon.

My great nephew Aaron will be joining us for Sunday Lunch and of course the morning will start with an Easter Egg Hunt! The children love it and I am sure they will all help Aaron along as he is only 19 months old! Later today I shall endeavour to make and embroider a material bucket suitably adorned with a Easter theme.

Whatever you are doing this Easter Weekend, Have a Happy Peaceful one, and relax and enjoy some quality time with your family!

Wednesday, March 17, 2010

Well I haven;t posted for a while as it has been very busy. I really do enjoy having my time at the Friday market, it is great to be able to meet like minded people and to have time to speak to my customers. The downside is it is very cold at 7am when you are trying to put up your stall!

Working from home can be very solitary, however I like the fact that I have my lovely room to work from and it truly is 'my space' messy or tidy, I love it!

I hope you all had a great Mothers Day, I did! Very spoilt and had a lovely weekend with my family and we also celbrated Grandpa's Birthday!

I will be listing some new handmade jewellery and brooches, embroided of course! Not a pandora bead in site! I promise!

We managed to spend two hours gardening as a family on Sunday and it is great to see the first signs of Spring with the bulbs peeking through. I am re-potting all of my tubs - just doing two or three a day and it is certainly making the view from my window a lot more pretty!

Well have a great weekend. Best Wishes Ellie
